Outdoor Dining in West Chester or nearby?
We have a girls' night out scheduled for Friday, and the weather should be great. Does anyone have any recs for somewhere in or near West Chester that has great food, good drinks and outdoor seating? We usually end up at Teca, but would like to try something new. Nobody's been really out for quite a while after juggling jobs, kids, etc.?
Thanks for the help.
Avalon has a nice outdoor patio. http://www.avalonrestaurant.net/about.htm. I went a year ago and enjoyed my meal - maybe someone can comment on the food who's visited more recently.
Limoncello has outdoor seats on the street. I've never been so can't comment on the food. http://www.limoncellowc.com/
Mas Cantina has the roof top deck. Drink service was slow when I was there, we didn't have food but have heard it's not good. You could have a drink on the roof, then head somewhere else for dinner.
I like Avalon a lot. I've been there at least six times in the past six months and I've enjoyed it every time. If you do go there, you might want to check for coupons on Restaurant.com.
The Four Dogs Tavern in Marshalton, just outside West Chester, has a nice outdoor area, and live music on Fridays. The drinks are good, and the food is also good, but not "great." Sovana Bistro, just outside Kennett Square has nice outdoor seating on the side patio. There's also seating in front, but I personally don't enjoy the view of the parking lot. They've got a nice bar, or you can BYO, and I really enjoy the food there; in fact, it's my favorite nearby restaurant. http://www.sovanabistro.com/restauran...
Thanks for the suggestions! We ended up on the porch at the Blue Pear, just down 202. It was a lovely night, the service was friendly and attentive -- which I commend them for. As an aside, when I worked as server, a group of six women could often end up to be the worst table of the week, maybe month. Just so no one takes offense, many of these experiences were pleasant and profitable, and being on the diner side at this time, I always try to ensure it's that way for the people taking care of us.
Anyway, after some apps of chicken skewers and popcorn, I ravenously attacked my bacon and egg salad. I'm not sure it's exactly what everyone would think of as "girls' night" food, but this girl loves her some pork belly. I also really enjoyed the short ribs. Other good choices at the table included the carpaccio, the grilled cheese and the duck confit with radicchio.
