Best sushi lunch in Little Tokyo for tomorrow?

I am taking out for lunch tomorrow a dear colleague who is leaving work, and I want to treat her to fabulous sushi in Little Tokyo. I normally go to Sushi Gen but the wait is crazy and we can't go before 1pm, so I don't know if it would work. PLEASE HELP! Where can we have delicious sushi, preferably in a nice setting?

Yes! Of course! Thanks, that's exactly what I need. Of course now I'm curious to hear what others think...

Just be warned that R23 has been quite uneven the several times I've been there since they remodeled and expanded. I've always been a big supporter of R23, but it certainly has lost quite a bit of consistency.

My experience: I've been to R23 4 times since the remodel - The food is about 90% of what it was, but has been consistently so on each of those 4 times.

Sushi Go 55 on alemeda on the third floor of the marketplace is very good. The chirashi
is much better than the one at sushi gen but more expensive. They have a sushi sampler
which is quite good also I like their spider roll and deep fried oysters. Its not posh and
smallish but very tasty and authentic.
