I'm looking for CHEAP BEER&FOOD w/ NICE TVs in Toronto/GTA...aka poor man's version of Jack Astors?

Someone please educate me - I am looking for a poor man's version of Jack Astor's with decent to nice TVs for Wednesday night's hockey game. A place with Wednesday night Wings special would be even better. Can someone please recommend me some places?

So Jack Astor's is for the rich now, huh? :)

If you're in the downtown east area, Betty's on King near Sherbourne has great wings (and other food) and a few decent TVs, though they are not a "sports bar" per se. Very affordable food, huge beer list (including a Betty's home brand which is a bit cheaper than the imports) and a pleasantly ramshackle vibe.

A few block west at Front and George, behind the High Tech kitchen store is the Upfront sports bar known for their wings. This is more of a divey sports bar, cheap beer pitcher specials, and they have more TVs (though they are a bit old school, technology-wise... no monstrous projection/LCD/plasmas here... you wanted "poor man's!")

Maybe the Wheat Sheaf (Bathurst and King West)... it's kinda grotty, but it's also a classic.
