Dinner recommendations in Padstow

Hi there,

I will be in staying Padstow with the girlfriend and her parents in mid July and was looking for some dinner recommendations. I've booked a table at The Seafood Restaurant (Rick Stein) but could only get a 9.30 PM booking so am open to other suggestions. Ideally somewhere that does fresh delicious seafood - shouldn't be too difficult given the location I would think.

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

    Bonsoir, souljacker.

If you're happy to go with something a little more casual, Rick Stein's fish and chip shop is excellent.

The weather will be perfect by mid-July, so you'll be able to take them to the water's edge and enjoy them while watching the boats comin' in and goin' out again.

A search above for Padstow will reveal some fairly recent comments about places in the area.

Thanks for the tip - I think I may have prematurely posted! Sounds like Paul Ainsworth and Margot's are both well worth a visit, I just hope I can get a table at one or the other.

You could try Rosel and Co. I've not been to this place but its on the Michelin "Rising Stars" list for 2010. It's just outside Padstow in a place called St Merryn, 5 minutes on the bus.

Or head over the water on the little ferry to Nathan Outlaw's new place in Rock - try and get the hotel to pick you up from the ferry/water taxi as it is a longish walk up the hill.
