Haven't been there in a couple of years. But went for the weekend special: Lamb Shanks.

Those lamb shanks were fabulous. And I'm the picky once a year meat eater. The meat had really been long cooked, gedempt as we say in yiddish:) and was even , oh joy, fatty near the bone.

Med Deli has a liquor license so I had a nice Pinot Grigio & there is local beer, such as Copperline Ale on tap. Everyone was extremely happy with dinner, more so than the time I went to Sandwhich, so I do recommend going back & giving the weekend specials a try.

I was in a week ago for the first time since they remodeled. Falafel salad was excellent, although huge.

Wow, the food was excellent and there was too much of it, I usually hear that the food was terrible and the portions were so small.

I've never heard such a thing about Med Deli.. Especially where portions are concerned.

sorry, the comment was not about Med Deli, but about the standard joke about when people complain about a restaurant.

This is what I had there a couple of weeks ago - yes, huge! And quite excellent. I was glad my husband and I had decided beforehand to share. It looks great inside. It's such a treat looking at all the dishes and desserts, but it makes it hard to choose. I wasn't thrilled with their grape leaves, unfortunately - the leaves themselves were tough and stringy, not tender. Loved the other sides, though, so no deal-breaker.

wookie if you want great grape leaves, Weaver St. has a new supplier and they are excellent. I was so surprised.

Joy! I actually really liked the ones that Trader Joe's sold in their prepared foods section (loved the price, too!), but they stopped carrying them a while back. I'll drop by the Weave for some this week - thank you!
