somewhere between Paris and the Dordogne

Will be driving from Paris to Nadaillac de Rouge near Souillac in the Dordogne and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a nice simple place to stop on the highway. It's about a 5 hour drive and not looking for a long lingering lunch but just someplace nice, perhaps quaint. Many thanks.

Argenton sur Creuse is about mid way, next to the freeway, and is a pretty town with good eats. If weather is good, why not get things from a traiteur and picnic? Btw, count on about 6 hours drive instead of 5 as the gogle map or viamichelin says. Their estimates are always hopelessly optimistic.
