Mac's Shack in Wellfleet

LOVED Mac's, loved the tuna mango martini, loved the Kamikaze roll, liked the trio of ceviche, loved the spicy tuna..loved Jun, loved the setting. Did not love the gaggle of waitresses (all sweet) sometimes 5 right behind my back at a small station (lots of distracting chatter) and did not love the cold AC but had a sweatshirt so bundled up. Patty our waitress was a gem..this place is a find..Cannot wait to go back. AMAZING

The long bar out front is clearly the fav spot. I still cling to the traditional habits when chowing on sushi. The interaction with chef is special to my enjoyment level. I know of no other restaurant practice where one can freely interact with a skilled chef about all aspects of what's best, tweaked to satisfy my tastes, and how to eat the food to bring out its appealing attributes. An equally satisfying part of the traditional sushi eating experience is enjoying the experience with other patrons. At Mac's Shack, ya, the outside long counter is the place to be for this delightful aspect of the dinning. With the moratorium on fishing announced yesterday by the Federal Government, the availability of local tuna is going to be in short supply - sigh.
