Madeline Island
My husband and I rented a cabin on Madeline Island next weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We've never been to the area and I can't find a single post about it here. Can anyone chime in on great eats in the area, Bayfield or the island? Thanks!

Oh, you'll have a lot of options both on the island and in Bayfield - though once you're on the island you'll probably want to stay there. In Bayfield, I like Maggie's for "casual" dining (with plenty of pink flamingos for decorations); the Wild Rice (on the road into town) is an expensive "blow-out" kind of place, but worth it, I think, with very high quality food and beautiful Scandinoovian-style architecture. In La Pointe (on the island), my favorite place is Lotta's Lakeside Cafe - high quality bistro fare (nice outdoor seating). "The Beach Club" is good for burgers and appetizers overlooking the docks. Then there's Mission Hill Coffee for morning capucinno, and Tom's Burned Down Cafe for live music after dark! Madeline Island is a treat.
