Good eats near Hilton Chicago (S. Michigan & E. 8th)

I'll be visiting Chicago from Toronto and I'm looking for good eats near the Hilton Chicago on South Michgan and E. 8th St.

I'd love suggestions for good cheap eats, but also a nice moderate priced places.

I love almost anything, but food unique to Chicago, or at least good quality and in Chicago would be great: perhaps Chicago deep dish pizza, Soul?, Cajun or Creole..is that possible?

All of the above are within a 5 minute walk from the hotel, with the exception of the three pubs, which are a bit further but still within walking distance (10-15 minutes).
