Where can I buy Passion Fruit or maybe just the juice in Metro Detroit?

KathleenT Jun 4, 2010 12:56 PM

So I had a partylite party a couple weeks back and one of their drinks was from a margarita mix that was made from passion fruit. Their mix is ridiculously expensive so I was hoping to experiment and come up with a good drink on my own. Unfortunately I have not been able to find passion fruit itself or in juice form at all. Anyone have any tips? I thought about heading to E&L supermercado in Detroit to see if they have it. Any advice?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Papa Joe's regularly has passion fruit -- the fruit, but it's probably ridiculously expensive. Passion fruit nectar is available in cans, maybe at Meijer in the ethnic food section (Mexican) I'd also expect you can get it at La Colmena (Honey Bee) Market in Mexicantown.

What side of town do you live on?

I wanna say I have seen some at Randazzo's but they are not always consistent.

That or I would look into Trentwood Farm Market‎...if they do not have it.....Ask for it!

Meijer's been known to have them -- worth a call at least.

Thank you both for the feedback will check Meijer again for somewhere local. I did email E&L in SW Detroit and they do carry the nectar, juice and pulp it turns out so thank you all again! Now to get some good margarita's going. yum.
