Good packaged broth for Asian cooking?
Looking for neutral, commercial broth (preferably organic, prob. chicken) suitable for preparing Asian soups. Yes, I know how easy it is to make your own, but our freezer doesn't work so I can't stockpile/prepare in advance. I think I read somewhere the Swanson's organic chicken broth was pretty good, but does it have a pronounced Western flavor that would be jarring? Also I'm somewhat sensitive to msg. Thanks!

Swanson's has the closest to homemade taste, and is very popular with Asian restaurants. It's very often the only canned chicken broth you will find in an Asian market, and for good reason. It has no pronounced flavor other than chicken, the herbs and spices you add are what will determine its flavor....garlic, fresh ginger root, chili paste, cilantro and the like will give it an Asian flavor.
