Will be staying in Carrolton so anything near there is a big plus, but we're willing to go all over the metro for good food. Looking for amazing barbecue, spectacular tex-mex (be it hole in the wall or fine dining), awesome margaritas and the best chicken fried steak in the area.

I believe there's a First Chinese BBQ in Carrollton, and there's also a Babe's (fried chicken) in old downtown Carrollton.
Amazing BBQ is hard to come by here in the city ... and I've been searching for that elusive best chicken fried steak myself. Babe's serves it, but I can never bring myself not to order the fried chicken. Maybe you can order both & split them ...

If you want amazing Catfish and fried oyster's while your here in Carrollton then check out the Catfish House at Old Denton and Frankford. It is soooo goood. Also there is a new Mexican old school Mexico at Josey & Frankford called El Parilla ( or something close to that) It serves fantastic tacos and the roasted Jalapeno's with pork are the best ever, also great chips and sauce. I have only been on Friday nights when they are busy and they also fun entertainment. I have also heard that the Chicken Fried Steak at Babes is fantastic, but I am like the other poster can't pass up the chicken when I go there.I am sorry I have nothing for you regading BBQ My Family is from Memphis (nuff said). Have fun on your visit.

Most of these are in Carrollton, it's a very good area for food.
For TexMex, head to Tipicos, which is on Belt Line to the east of the Belt Line and Josey intersection.
Agave Azul makes one of the best margaritas in town. They are located in downtown Carrollton, nearby the already mentioned Babe's.
The fried chicken is the true reason to hit Babe's, whose cfs is passable. Ozona still has a very good cfs, it's actually in Dallas. For bbq, go east to Garland and stop by Meshack's. I like their brisket and ribs.
For BBQ, google D Magazine Best BBQ and there is a listing of several. To be specific, I like CT's and Longoria's which both are on the list.
