2 Hours For Lunch - EMP or Cheap Eats?

Hi All,

I will be in NY for business this upcoming Monday and Tues and have approx 2 hours for lunch on Tues before I need to catch my flight. I will be staying in the Downtown BK/Brooklyn Heights area and plan on taking the subway into Manhattan for the chow.

My questions are:

1. Is 2 hours too little time to do EMP for lunch?

2. Alternatively, is it more feasible to take the subway to EV - eat at Motorino then walk down to the LES for slutty cakes and sweet items at Shopisin's?

I will be flying out of La Guardia if that makes any difference. I am estimating a 1hr commute time via cab from BK to LG airport. Please let me know what you all think!

Thanks in advance.

  1. 2 hours is fine for lunch at EMP. Just let them know you have 2 hours and they will take care of the pacing.

Do not waste your precious visit time at Shopsin's.

    1. I would bring my suitcase with me to EMP and leave from there.

Thank you for the candid feedback. I just needed confirmation for my gut. Truth be told, I will already be dressed in a suit so it seems appropriate to take advantage of that fact. I am excited to experience EMP since I missed it on my last trip to NYC. Thanks again!

Just to note that EMP has no dress code, so a jacket is not required at either lunch or dinner. However, given that it is a popular business lunch destination (it's in the Credit Suisse bldg.), you will have plenty of suit-wearing company.

      2. I second bring your luggage to EMP and leave in a cab for LGA from EMP. Arrive at EMP 3 hours before you need to be at LGA.
