Raleigh - near airport
long story short...we have to go to Raleigh this weekend and are staying near the airport for 2 nites. Need late dinner recommendations somewhere nearby - not a chain- but some ideas for Saturday dinner downtown Raleigh or suburbs...Italian....American Cuisine...Seafood or something different like good German . No Thai/Asian/Chinese
For good German, then yes, go to J. Betskis (F&St til 10, closed Sun). Some of the usual recommended suspects downtown include Poole's (southern influenced in a laid back hipster diner setting - they serve until midnight, brunch only on Sun), Sitti (Easter Med, F&St til midnight), and Gravy (red sauce Italian open til 11 F&St, 10 on Sun).

If you're going to downtown Raleigh area and looking for something German/Polish, most people would automatically recommend J. Betski's though I believe they are closed on Sundays. North Hills which is a little over halfway between downtown and the Mall has Vivace for Italian, Coquette for French Bistro and Mura for Sushi (though I guess that is considered Asian). I would recommend Michael Dean's for Seafood only because it is closer to 540 though still a bit away from the Airport. There is an Italian place on Airport Rd., but I don't recall the name nor have I heard many reviews on it. Cary has a good selections of items such as Lucky 32 and Maximilians and Heron's (if you want super fancy). Downtown Raleigh also has a slew of things I'm not even going to list off because it may take forever.
How late a dinner are you looking at?
