Roasting rack for half sheet pan

I bought an Amco half sheet pan with cooking rack from Amazon a few months ago:

I mostly use the pan and rack for roasting small pieces of meat like chicken thighs. While it works well, the cooling rack is a major pain to clean since it has so many wires and they are so close together. Usually I just throw it in the dishwasher which cleans it up nicely, except for the fact that the rack will rust and I end up having to clean off the rust by hand with a sponge.

Does anyone know of a good roasting rack that will fit a half sheet pan? Ideally the wires would be far enough apart to make cleaning easy, and it should be able to go into the dishwasher without coming out rusty.

  1. so buy one made of stainless steel. Vollrath make one; should sell for less than you paid for the rusting one.

Well the funny thing is that the one I have is _supposed_ to be stainless steel and is highly rated by Cooks Illustrated. Obviously they never put it in the dishwasher.

Regardless, the rusting isn't the only thing I have an issue with. The wires are too close together to make it easy to clean in between. I really want to get a roasting rack, and not a cooling rack that fits this pan.

Per the amazon description of the products, the pan is aluminized carbon steel, the rack is chrome-plated carbon steel. Neither is stainless steel.

Hmm, you are right. I could have sworn that when I bought it it said stainless steel. I guess that explains the rust.
