Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and The Bronx

Taking Italian parents out to dinner tomorrow in Park Slope, my mom is a huge PITA

Need recs of really tasty restaurants, more casual than super upscale because she gets uncomfortable in fancy restaurants. Believe it or not, Italian food would be ideal, but I don't think there are many choices in Park Slope for good Italian. Any suggestions? I'm thinking Get Fresh (though not Italian), since I've had terrific brunches there, but I don't know how dinner is.

  1. Get there early and take her to al di la. Certainly the best Italian food (Northern, not red sauce) around.
