Back in the 80's, we always ordered the Mongolian beef. I should go back to see if it is still as good I remember it.

The father passed it on to his son, Henry, in the 90s. Maybe there was another earlier owner?

Did Kirin move? Unless something changed it's still on Geary near 25th/26th. I was there a few years ago and it was very good.

We have been taken to Kirin on Geary at around 26th avenue by two different Chinese friends of ours within the last six months. I assume it's the one you're talking about. Both of these friends, with their families, have been going there for years. Both times we have enjoyed the food a lot. The atmosphere, as is often the case in this type of restaurant, leaves something to be desired, however. The dishes I remember liking the most are the chicken wings, Chinese chicken salad and the walnut prawns.

The rice-stuffed chicken and the raw-fish salad are their specialties.
