Gallo Salame Trattoria 1910?

Gallo Salame's pop-up trattoria has a four-week run to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Anyone have a chance to try it?

  1. I happen to have taken Fri 5/28/10 off and saw it mentioned on funcheapsf.com so went there. I wasn't hungry when I went, but FREE food I'll go. If you RSVP u can get a FREE lunch out of it, some walk-in available lady told me. Not sure the lunch menu.

Walked from Civic Center Bart down on Market to 2nd & Natoma. I missed the Natoma sign it's on the Left-hand side, not on the right. You'll see Taco Del Mar & Tempura House. Gallo Salame Trattoria 1910 is way down the street and you would miss it if not looking for it.

Small place, not many people were inside when I went. Had to sign a release that if I had any allergies wouldn't eat the food.

I went for the appetizers served 5/26-June 18 Tues -Fri from 5-7pm.

FREE huge plate of salad w/ cut up sliced Gallo Salame, chickpeas, dressing, tomato, olives, 1 pepper. Just average.

FREE Boylan Root Beer (other flavors Grape, Black Cherry), or tap water.

Then girl brought other stuff to sample: salame pinwheel, salame pate, bite size of salame cheesecake.

Nothing special here, but if in the neighborhood, maybe worth trying. Not worth a special trip. On the way out, got a sheet of sliced Gallo salame (kind you can buy at grocery store) and coupon.

One unisex bathroom in the back past the bar.
