Oak Island, NC - BBQ?
Anyone know of a barbecue caterer in or around Oak Island, NC? I'm looking for someone to do a pig pickin. Actually, serving from the pig isn't important but they must at least cook the whole hog (not shoulders). Preferably a wood burner. Choice of eastern and western sauces a plus.
Anyone have any experience with the "BBQ House" on the island? They claim to cook 'em whole over hickory. Actually they meet all my criteria but I'd like some personal feedback. Would be nice to have someone like that located there to avoid paying a travel/delivery fee.

BBQ House has been good the three or four times we've eaten there. Their pork and chicken both are typical of an eastern NC style serving. IIRC, their brunswick stew is imported from Hursey's BBQ in the Burlington/Graham (NC) area - not sure of the connection there.
They do have multiple sauce options, both eastern and western NC and also a mustard based sauce.
Best thing to do would be go by, have a meal, and talk to someone about what you want to do. Even though they're the only one in the area you're in, it's pretty good and will probably suit your needs.
