Take out dim sum help

gfsf Jun 2, 2010 01:51 PM

I need to pick up about 50 pieces each of har gow and siu mai for a party this Sunday preferably in the Sunset area of SF or in Daly City. Price is a factor but so is quality, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I have good luck at New Wing Sing on Clement on I think near 11th Ave. Their Taro Root dumpling is one of my favorites.

Also they have a full service deli too.

Another good place is Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant on Noriega at the corner of 33rd Ave. Their har gow and siu mai are excellent. They have a small take-out store with a separate entrance just next to the restaurant.

        Call TC Pastry on Irving.

Thanks for the TC Pastry suggestion. I noticed that there is one in Daly City also that I assume are the same owners. Is one better then the other?

There was a post in the last month or so that the Daly City one was not as good, but that might be a turnover issue that wouldn't apply if you place a special order.. It's been too long since I've tried TC in Daly City to offer a personal comparison. If Daly City is more convenient for you, you might pop over there to try both items and decide if they're up to your personal standard.
