Palena vs. Central

It was a hard decision, but in the end I made my reservation for Palena instead of Central. Do you think I made the right choice!?

Two very different experiences (I assume you mean the back room at Palena since the Cafe doesn't take reservations.) Personally, if you are looking for a more formal meal, good service, and great food, you made the right choice. I've never had a disappointing (or even a minor glitch) meal at Palena.

Palena is a much more relaxing experience. I also think the food is fresher and more seasonal. I like Central, but it's often really frenetic there. Also, the food can be heavy.

They are both very different restaurants with incredibly different food and vibes. That said---I think you can't go wrong with either, so clearly you made the right choice :)

Both are great restaurants. I've loved most everything I have had at Central (their lobster burger is to die for). But Palena is superior, to me. Chef Ruta is one gifted dude.
