Near Sunset Plaza for coffee and a place to grade

I'm heading from the OC to Sunset Plaza (Sunset and LaCienega) for an appointment. Will probably have a little time to spare and need a place to sit and grade papers. Any suggestions?

There's a Peet's just up the street, across from Book Soup...

Best suggestion, period.
However, on Doheny, there is La Conversation, meaning just north of Santa Monica Blvd., east side of the street. Not bad, yet still not Peet's, yet a bit more homey, as that particular Peet's is a bit sterile.

Walk right across the street to the Andaz . The RH is a great venue . Order a cup of coffee (or whatever). You will be comfortable and you will feel welcome. I am confident that no-one will intrude on your space. If you decide to have food, you will have a fine selection. I saw a couple of friends having a very private meeting. They were happy to have the time and space. RH is great for this.
