Murrells Inlets/Litchfield/Pawleys Recs

I'll be in the area next week and need any recommendations for new restaurants and updates on old places that are still worth visiting. We love seafood mostly, but are always interested in a good steak, etc. by the end of the week.

Was there 3 weeks ago. Frank's is #1 in my book. Also for a funky experience go to Pawleys Island Tavern -no sign but it is behind the Mole Hole.

Frank's was my favorite many years ago! I loved just being there in that setting.
My family also loved Lee's for seafood, especially she-crab soup.

Has anyone any specifics on Salt Creek Cafe and Spud's Waterfront Dining. H've heard nice things. Also any information on Harrelson's Seafood Market is appreciated. Thanks.

I've been to both of them. Spud's is pretty good. They generally have live music outside on the weekends and sometimes during the week. I had a very good salad there for lunch. The view is one of the best on the Marsh Walk. I heard they put in a new menu last month, so I have not sampled that yet.

Salt Creek Cafe is also good -- but no view. They also have a really good happy hour. Their shrimp and grits is also very, very good and they do a good job of fried seafood.

I have wrote about Salt Creek ....a lot. It is by far my favorite place in the inlet. The food is always great as is the service. The best she crab soup. I love the 3.00 bloody marys! I love that it is a great place to go with a group because the menu rocks. i HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. And they may not have a view but the place is lovely...esp love cocktails on the veranda.
We go for lunch at Harrelsons sometimes...it is really good but has gotten a little pricey for what it is....we got three sanwiches and chips last week and it was almost 40.00. We can eat huge at salt creek for that same amount esp during happy hour.

Also go to the General South archive and do a search as there are several discussions there which could be helpful.
