ISO: Finacial district dinner ideas

Have a class on gold st in financial tonight. Looking for decent inexpensive quick eats; Im not talking sho tonight. Been to Les Halles, but would go back if that is best option. No cuisine is off limits.
Any ideas? I know lots of these places seem to be lunch only. This would be around 5pm.

Could you please try out Barbarini Alimentari* (the restaurant in the back, not the takeout-cafe-in front) and tell me if they're any good? I haven't had the chance visit myself, but have read good things about their pasta. It's near Seaport, but not too inconvenient from Gold. Also read good things about Fresh Salt* (sandwiches), but have not confirmed personally. I thought Acqua* (Italian) was ok given its location.

I second Alfanoose for great Middle Eastern. colfaxBee is right - it's definitely lacking in atmosphere.

*Unfortunately, nothing is going to be great in FiDi, so know that these recommendations are merely what's the best we can get in this food wasteland, and does not in any way reflect Chowhound worthiness.

Soma for fast Korean and sushi on William St near Fulton. Awesome falafel (but zero atmosphere) at Pita Express on Ann St, near Broadway. Alfanoose for middle eastern, on Maiden Lane, great food but also lacking atmosphere. Country Kebab on Gold and Fulton is also nice, good for kebabs and shwarama, etc.
