Ruidoso NM Bound from Phoenix

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Phoen...

This is our route - South thru Tucson into Ruidoso NM. We MAY stop and eat along the way but we usually pack some munchies. Will be in Ruidoso NM for three days.

Am checking out Cafe Rio in another post. Any other recommendations? This is a budget trip so if it's three digits for a meal for one person, we'll have to check it out next time.

Thanks for any info CHer's - I'm looking forward to getting out of the heat as the thermometer creeps towards 108 plus degrees!

Thank you for the recommendations! We'll have enough to try during our visit. I'll report back.

    Thanks again!

Landlocked is a great place that few know about. Good fish specials on the weekend. Texas Club probably has the best steak in town. Hall of Flame Burger is downtown and good for lunch. They have good burgers and some fantastic steak tacos. The Village Buttery and Hummingbird Room are also good lunch spots downtown.

      Log Cabin for breakfast.

Santino's is a very good Italian restaurant. Quite romantic.

Willmon's Prime Grille is one of the better steakhouses in that part of the world.

Try La Fondue under Elena's Place next to Starbucks on Sudderth.
