Bon Chon Chicken in Nanuet

I was really excited to see that a Bon Chon Chicken opened up in Rockland Plaza on Route 59. Tried it over the weekend, and it did not disappoint. For the uninitiated, the chicken is prepared in a Korean style where it's fried twice, which allegedly makes it less greasy and more crisp. This was definitely true for the wings and drumstick, we also tried a side of white meat, which was a little too breaded for my taste, but still delicious. We tried both the hot and spicy flavored chicken, which was pleasantly super-spicy and the garlic soy, which was sweet and well flavored. With the chicken you're given one free side-- we chose french fries and cole slaw, which were ordinary, plus a side of some sort of pickled white radish (not kimchee, but they do have that as well) that adds compliments the rest of the food very well. We got take out, but the inside would be pleasant to eat in, if you can get past the two tvs. All in all, a welcome addition to Rockland county.
