Visiting Hilo town for day only- Rec your best lunch spot.

I will be traveling from visitin Kilauea Volcano and then Akaka Falls-after will want to dine in Hilo town probably around 1 or 2 pm so it can't be places that close early. Just fantastic food and not dressy.PRICE NO OBJECT!!

Hilo Bay Cafe and Sombat's Thai are both DELISH! Hilo Bay has great sandwiches, salads and sweet potato fries. Sombat's is VERY fresh and tasty Thai. We try to hit both every visit to Hilo.

I'd go to Cafe 100, the inventor of the Loco Moco and purveyor of local food, plate lunch, lau lau. Inexpensive, doesn't look like much...but TASTY.

Do you want a upscale place or a local Noodle spot...if the latter then Nori's Saimin...been there forever...local joint ...hard to find...off the main road. Good.

Though it might be too long ago to be of use, we really enjoyed Cafe Pesto, and ended up dining there 3 times, over 10 days. Remember, some time ago.

It's been a year since I've been, but I've greatly enjoyed Hilo Bay Cafe on several visits. I've only been for lunch and "afternoon" menu.
