I have a recipe that calls for vanilla paste, but I don't know where to buy it.... I would appreciate your help.
Thanks

I just picked up a 4 oz jar of Nielsen-Massey vanilla bean paste at Williams Sonoma on Bloor, for $10.

I saw Nielsen-Massey vanilla paste at HomeSense near Yonge and Queen a couple of days ago. The bottle was 9.99$

Bonnie Stern sells vanilla paste at her cooking school (near Yonge and Eglinton). She uses it a lot of her recipes and I'm a total convert - way better than extract.

The W-S vanilla paste says to use it 1 for 1 as a substitute for vanilla extract. So if you can't find it, a similar amount of vanilla extract should be fine (it just doesn't give the nice little specks, and is a bit more liquid).

I saw it the other day at Pusateri's on Avenue Road, in the baking aisle. It was attached to another bottle with vanilla extract so I guess it's a package deal and probably on the pricey side.

The Spice Emporium sells vanilla powder, which I assume can be reconstituted into vanilla paste. They might have a method as well.

Try Bulk Barn. I think I bought my bottle there; I certainly didn't go to Williams-Sonoma or St. Lawrence Market. I would remember if I had gone to W-S!

                  I've seen it at Williams-Sonoma.

In the St. Lawrence Market, I've seen it at one of the basement stores sells assortment of gourmet groceries. They had it on the counter by the cashier.

I bought one from Golda's Kitchen.

Which Bulk Barn carries the Nielsen-Massey brand in Markham area? I would like to buy some Nielsen-Massey extracts. Golda's kitchen is really out of the way.

Williams-Sonoma carries Nielsen-Massey vanilla paste. Pricey, of course. One of the vendors in the St. Lawrence Market might carry it, but I couldn't tell you which.

I get mine at WS. It is pricey - about $30 for a bottle, but it lasts for a very long time and for me WS close to home.

I just saw that Ashton Green also carries the Nielsen-Massey vanilla paste. And at $14.95 for a 4 oz jar, I'm guessing it's a fair bit cheaper than the Williams-Sonoma price.

It's a mail order store, but the warehouse is in Scarborough and you can pick up your order there if you don't want to pay for shipping.
