Hi,
Hubby and I just moved here form NYC, and we love our brunch! Today looks like its going to be beautiful! Any rec's for brunch spots near Venice? We will drive but would like to stay along the coast line (Santa Monica, Malibu, Marina Del Ray, etc)

Thanks!!!

Lily's on Abbot Kinney? Nice covered patio that opens to a whimsical garden. French bistro food that is pretty good.

3 Square on Abbot Kinney? They have a corner patio that is nice in the morning as long as it's not too crowded. Lots of variety from American to Austrian/German but a bit juiced up with a California touch. I'm thinking they're open - I recall the folks in their bakery next door a little down about having to work so many holidays while her friends were out having fun...

As Baron mentioned, Mondays are a day off for a fair amount of eateries. Bite Bar & Bakery has been a hot topic on these boards lately. They do have great breakfasts and lunches. You might want to give them a call to see if they're open. If so, you might like its laid back atmosphere and great food. If so, I'd give them a thumbs-up. They normally are pretty strict about sticking to their breakfast menu up to 11:30AM, but if you dropped in around 11:00, they have been known to make that transition between 11-11:30.

If they have the waffles going, I'd grab that right off the bat. Other than that, stand in front of the chalkboard menu, close your eyes, and point - you'll still pick a winner...

Cafe del Rey in the Marina for sure. Joe's, maybe, in Venice. Some places are closed on Mondays. Best to call first.
