Sweet 16 in LA

I'm looking for suggestions for a sweet sixteen dinner -- about 12 girls -- in the LA area. Valley, Santa Monica, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, West Hollywood -- all are good options. Can anyone recommend a fun, trendy restaurant?

We take out of towners with teenagers to Saddle Ranch Chop House in West Hollywood. There's a menu kids like, the Sunset Blvd. scene, s'mores over the fire, the entertainment (and a lesson to them about drinking) of watching people fall off the bull. Usually someone's spotted a celeb.

Would The Ivy work? Trendy enough for the paparazzi to be hanging outside all the time. Or Cecconi's (sp?).

        some fun suggestions:
        bazaar
dar maghreb (if eating with hands and belly dancing sounds fun)
Simon LA (junk food platter for dessert)
        asia de cuba
...whats the budget and food preferences of the girls?

my daughter had hers at geisha house.
truly, i didn't and don't understand why they liked it so much, but they did.
          truly mystifying.

I'd say it sounds like you have a wonderful daughter, who at the age of 16, was perfectly normal in those things that 16-year old girls are fascinated by. :) And who knows, when she hits 25 like her mom is now, she may be the ultimate Chowhound like her as well. :)

I was thinking Koi, but maybe just a tad to racy for the average 16-year old, or at least for what a mom would approve of for her 16-year old.

              awwww.
sadly she doesn't have the taste buds.
it breaks my heart that she doesn't 'get' Mariscos Chente (she orders quesadillas there)

with your budget, i take geisha house off the table.
(how could they so love expensive food which didn't even taste good?)

Budget (per person) with food and drink? Any type of food you don't want or are particularly interested in having?

Any food works, ambiance is most important! Price around $20-30 per person with drink (but we're talking sodas!). Love the suggestions so far! Keep them coming.
