Dining in London Ontario

  • 2

My husband & I will be visiting London Ontario next weekend. Any recommendations on dining? No restrictions on price or type of cuisine. Thanking you in advance.

  1. Braise is the newcomer, with the nicest atmosphere, local ingredients, but hit or miss food.

The Only is a good bet for local comfort food, similar to what is served at The Wine Bar or Globe in Toronto.

Barrakat is my favourite restaurant for shawarma.

Massey is my favourite restaurant for Indian.

Blackfriars, David's, and JJ's Bistro in Byron are good options for bistro food in London.

On the Fork at the London Art Gallery is a nice option for an upscale lunch or brunch with a view.

Joe Kool's for nachos, quesadillas, pub food.

If you have time, you might want to check out the Covent Garden Market on Saturday, since the farmer's market takes place outside. Inside the market, there are tables, so you could get snacks from various stands at the market, and eat there. I like the burek from Hot Oven.

For a casual lunch, J Dee's on King is quite good, located across from the Covent Garden Market.

Enjoyed the grilled ocean perch sandwich this week.
