Begur/Costa Brava Suggestions

Hi, my family and I will be on the Costa Brava near Begur for 2 weeks. Any must visit places? Lunch places especially appreciated. We are a family of 4 with two teenagers, and are interested in all kinds of cuisine. PLaces with a view, as the area seems lovely.
Needless to say, El Bulli is booked (apparently I was about 100,000th in line when I applied for a reservation in January).
Thanks in advance,
Have a look at Casamar in Llafranc. It's not too far from Begur and probably one of the nicest restaurants there. Of course, there might be some fancier places in Girona and Roses but then we're not really talking lunch near Begur anymore. Frankly I'm going to Costa Brava to enjoy the ocean. I'm leaving the serious eating for Barcelona, Girona and San Pol de Mar.
The good news is there are many wonderful restaurants in the surrounding area.
A delicious restaurant and totally authentic one is the Restaurant Ibèric in a village about 15 minutes drive inland from Begur (go past Pals, turn left towards Peratallada, pass Peratallada and right at the roundabout and it´s 3 kilometers further on) called Ullastret. This is full on Baix Empordan cuisine. Snails, salad, home made salted anchovies, langoustines and prawns from Palamós, foie, octopus etc.etc. They´re very famous for their suquet which is a fish stew with potato and saffron, very aromatic. They also do wonderful grilled fresh fish from Palamós. Another house classic is the noodle and lobster broth which comes with bib included. Other seasonal specials are grilled thrush! Sautéed wild mushrooms, wild boar stew. the list goes on and the cooking is wonderful. You´re best to book: 972 757 108
You lose nothing by giving your dates to El Bulli (and a contact method). Ask to be informed if they have a cancellation.
