Portugal Day - 2010 - What's Great?

Anyone have details about this year's "Portugal Day" in the Ironbound?

Who's got the great frango churrasqueira, sardinhas assadas, leitao and broa? I usually buy from "Pic-Nic", right past the church where Wilson and Ferry meet, but any other recommendations welcome. Pickin's in the past few years have been slimmer than a generation ago, for sure.

Looks like it's not happening this year:

I just read that jaw-dropping news!

I recall fondly the first one I'd ever attended, on a 105-degree day in 1988...with the ground temp pushed to 125 or so with wall-to-wall chicken, meat and sardine grills cranking away with incredibly fresh stuff. Sadly, the "feira" deteriorated much from it's roots a generation or so ago...not enough "Port", more "Braz", "Ecuadorian" and other food and cultural dilutions. Now free to make my own Portugal Day, any ol' day.

If it's still there, a trip to POPULAR Fish market on Friday morning will suffice, they've usually got fresh-flown-in sardinhas by TAP to Newark-Liberty.
