Delivery?

noradeirdre May 29, 2010 04:10 PM

It's a super lazy hungover Saturday and I am not up for competing with Saturday night diners, so I was idly wondering if you Hounds had any thoughts for places that deliver? We live in the Irish Channel.

They don't deliver but it's only 4 blocks and you can pick it up.

I often order from Reginelli's when I'm in a delivery mood. Consistently tasty. I recommend the hummus, the caprese salad and the Mediterranean or sun pie pizzas.

Ooh, that place looks good. We ended up getting delivery from Five Happiness, which was nice and familiar. Reginelli's will be the next delivery go-to when we have hangover induced sloth.

Recognizing this is somewhat tangential, what are your go to dish/places after a night of drinking. In NY, one goes for a slice. In Philly it is a cheesesteak. In NJ, it is a diner. In Chicago, we used to go for sliders at White Castle.

Where do you go/what do you get in New Orleans?

Old folks go to bed. Young folks just keep on drinking. I'm joking. I think most folks order fast food like burgers/poboys. I hardly see anyone eating oysters/shrimp after midnight. The sliders sounds outstanding. Uuuummm.

Have you been to Shopsin's? What about Shake Shack. Oh I know you have been there. What about these guys in your great city. Are you from NYC or Chicago.

Back in the day, Camellia Grill or the Trolley Stop for a chili cheese omelet.

Uuummmmmmmm. Or a FQ bar that serves eggs, biscuits and sausage.

The chili cheese and the offerings at Trolley Stop were my go to meals pre-K - wondered if they were still open late these days

Roma Cafe delivers. Not that I recommend the food but when you're hungover sometimes delivery is better than taste.

My go-to right now is Reginelli's.

It's hard for me to believe that the food delivery market isn't recovered yet:(

Ive been ordering Pompeii Pizzeria a lot lately. Not sure how far they deliver uptown though. The pizza is good, but I think Im hooked on their cheesesteaks. I havent had a problem with their delivery yet and Ive had it like 10 times.
