Not Too Fancy Near JHU

We're non-Baltimorians (Baltimorites? I know it's not Baltimorons!) who will be meeting friends Sunday night near Johns Hopkins. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with what's up that way. Can anyone provide hints for good, family-friendly places? We don't mind divey or ethnic...

Papermoon Diner is a fun choice. My kids love the decor (crazy toys hanging from the ceiling) and being able to eat pancakes or french toast for dinner. I love the pesto chicken salad and some of their more innovative omelettes.

My family also loves Tambers. It's a diner that has two menus-- one Indian (from which my husband and I order) and one American (from which my kids order). The indian food is really good-- not the best in the city, but always fresh and tasty.

A final great option is One World Cafe. It's a vegetarian restaurant with great food. My kids love the mac and cheese and lasagna.

If you want drinks, One World and Tambers serve wine, beer, etc. Papermoon does not. All, though, are super family friendly.

    Enjoy!
