Nice restaurants near Queen and University - date night!

We live out of town so don't know the area very well but are looking for a mid-price range restaurant (entrees $30 and below) in this downtown area which would be nice for a date night. All food types are fine. Thanks.

A patio would be a good bonus!

Perhaps Tutti Matti or Jules (which has a patio)... if you're willing to hike a bit since both are closer to Spadina. Possibly Frank at the AGO? I also second Nota Bene, and the Queen Mum is a decent lower-priced option. While I like Ematei (it's one of Mr. Rab's faves), I find it a little dank and depressing in the atmosphere category.

Ematei for authentic Japanese tapas. Delicious.

I would try King W - Lee (by Susur Lee) is amazing, also Crush, Brassai and lots of others on the trendy strip.

You're not going to get out of George for under $200/couple and it's about five long blocks away.

The Queen Mother is a block away and has a lovely quiet garden out back. Mains well under $20. Not fine dining by any means.

Rustica Pizzeria (on blue jays way) has a small patio out front. Note bene is a nice restaurant but it might exceed your budget.

I agree that George isn't what I would classify as "mid-price" but Lindquist did say entrees for "less $30 and below", which is certainly doable at George.

A few places come to mind, all within a 10 minute walk. In order of proximity, I'd suggest Nota Bene, Rodney's By Bay, Origin and George. Of those, I think that only George has a patio (and a beautiful one at that).
