great happy hours in downtown minneapolis

Can anyone suggest happy hours in downtown Minneapolis with terrific food? I'm okay with just a basic glass of wine, but I do want really good food specials. I like all cuisines but I do not like sushi.

    1. I like Solera for late night happy hour. Grab a seat at the tapas bar, enjoy a discounted drink and watch the chefs work their magic. Vibrant, hip (and loud) crowd.

Another great late night happy hour is Saffron. Much more quiet, but the food is just as good.

Both places have early happy hours as well.

Since this thread is being revisited, I should note that Solera no longer has late night HH food deals, and the tapas bar is completely gone. It is still a good spot for having a few roof top cocktails, however.

      2. Bradstreet Crafthouse.

        1. I think this might only be Sun-Thursday but Palomino's in DT Mpls has a good happy hour with great wood fired pizzas and other appetizers. Might not be late night - I go there after work and it's always happy hour around 4pm or so.

Since this thread is being revisited, please note that Palomino has been closed for years.

          2. Saffron has an excellent happy hour with $3 bites and $5 cocktails. The lamb BLT is something special.

Be'Wiched has cheap Surly and Summit, and they'll also make up outstanding small plates based on your budget.

Vincent has won kudos for its happy hour menu. The $8 burger is a standout, but the rest of the specials are equally strong values.

            I'll concur on Bradstreet.

For a more visceral experience, you can hit up Spring Street Grill. That's more your typical cheap beer and nacho specials, but it's an interesting mix of people during happy hour, and the greasy food is good.

If you're looking during the day, the Modern has half off beer and wine from 11-4. I don't know why more places don't do this. The food there is pretty darn affordable anyway.
