Great Dining Experience

A cozy restaurant with great service and brilliant food. Dishes are from different regions of Italy. Owner is a very friendly man - loves to come to the table and introduce himself. Wines are selected by the owner - good extensive selection at a reasonable price. A great dining experience over all in downtown Austin.

We're in Oaxaca now. Please contact me if you want to "go in" on cooking lessons.

I suspect this is either what the diner wants, or a review of Quattro Gatti on Congress. The owner is indeed a nice man, but I've seen mixed reviews on everything else, and still have no firsthand experience with the restaurant.

Ugh, if this is, indeed, Quattro Gatti, I must respectively disagree. We ordered an appetizer of soup as well as two pasta entrees, one a seafood pasta and one a more simple vegetarian option. Nothing had any taste and our bill was $90 with tax and tip. That's with no dessert or alcohol. Never again...

Hmmm, my experience downtown was quite different, definitely not great. The service seemed inexperienced and rushed, and the food uninspired. Nice selection of beers, but I don't recall a wine list - Did you have to specifically request one? And the menu was more Tex-Mex - I didn't see anything Italian. I asked for the owner, but he was not around. Maybe I caught them on an off night. I'll give them another chance when the owner is working. :)

As the original post forgot to mention a specific downtown restaurant, I figured it may be like a Mad Lib and filled in my own experiences at random places downtown.

I think all this is what he wants us to find for him. This happens frequently with first time posters who recently moved to Austin from Florence.

Are there a lot of Florence to Austin transplants? Why would you move from Florence to Austin?...not that I don't love Austin, but seriously?

I think he confused us with Jeopardy.

Maybe we are supposed to guess from the clues he/she gave us.

Maybe the restaurant's name is Great Dining Experience?
