Brunch in Montgomery County

Is there a good place to go for Sunday brunch/breakfast in Montgomery County? Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersbug, Germantown? Something a little nicer than Original Pancake House and the like.

You might want to also try the General Store. If anything else its a thrownback to the restaurants of long ago. The decorations are a little hokey but the food for brunch is pretty good. The chicken and waffles approach, or the eggs benedict will be equally as good. Good luck and cheers! BTW The General Store is in Kensington/Silver Spring? Here is the URL:

I second Tower Oaks Lodge, Normandie Farm, and Louisiana Kitchen. All places I have taken my mother to.

A more casual choice is the Original Ambrosia across from the big Giant at 355 and Montrose Road.

The Comus Inn does a great Sunday brunch with a view of Sugarloaf Mountain.

Normandie Farm does a fun if not traditional brunch.

Old Angler's Inn does a brunch that is more "unch" than "br" but is classy:

Is it just me or does the Normandie Farm brunch menu look like 'whatever we didn't sell the night before'?

I've always liked the brunch at Lia's in Chevy Chase.

Non-traditional, but nothing beats dim sum at New Fortune or A&J!

Tower Oaks Lodge in Rockville does a pretty decent traditional brunch.

Love A&J. Haven't tried New Fortune yet.

I often end up at La Madeleine on the Pike. Also Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda. And IHOP. :) http://www.lamadeleine.com/

Montgomery County is a wasteland when it comes to brunch or even a good breakfast. Not to say that there aren't any options, but they're few and far between. For an upscale brunch experience, I recommend Black Market Bistro in Kensington. They don't take reservations, so keep that in mind. http://www.blackmarketrestaurant.com/. For a more casual experience, I think Mosaic Cafe on Halpine Road is good, especially if you like waffles. http://www.mosaiccuisine.com/

I second Black Market Bistro (I think they do take a few reservations-- I can't remember if you need to have 6 though).

                      Cafe Deluxe is another possibility.

Good choice. Black's is in Garrett Park, not Kensington.
