Best Classic Diner Food Around Detroit, MI (Near DTW Metro Airport)
Hi!
My friends and I are going to be around the DTW airport area in Detroit, MI tomorrow for 6 hours until our flight. We love diner food! Anyone with good recs within a 30 minute driving distance of the airport? We need to stay close. Thank you!

Thank you all for your tips! We checked out Leos and loved it. Sadly, we couldn't stay long enough to try the rest. As for coney island, we were from NY, 15 minutes from the area Coney Island (lol) so we passed on that.
Thanks again everybody!

I think the Leo's you went to was a Coney actually, but you need to visit Lafayette and American Coney's Downtown and have a taste test. The Friday night (June 4th) at 10:30 pm they are showing a new Food Network show "Food Feud", and half the show will be comparing those too Coney's.

I live near the airport and eat everywhere I can....but I have to say that I am not thinking of any great Diner places in the area. About the closest place of interest I can think of is the Bomber in Ypsilanti.

re: Fibber McGee
Actually the McNamara terminal has 2 coneys, but they are both National Coney Islands. One is a sit-down, full service coney. The other is a stand-up-and-eat place. They both have good coneys and fries, and the sit-down one has decent breakfasts, sandwiches, etc. I've recently eaten at both and have had no complaints.

re: gooddog
There is Leos right off exit 28 Ann Arbor rd. Head west, maybe a mile but I think Its less then that. The Leo's is just past the corner of Haggerty and Ann Arbor Rd. Right by the police station. Stay on Ann Arbor rd past Haggerty and it will be on your right just past the CVS (CVS is directly on the corner of Haggerty and Ann Arbor Rd.) This one is a lot closer to the 275 then either listed above.
