Cleo:
I have some surprisingly ...at least for me... good reviews of the Melting Pot ...who said fondues were "history"?
Is Tao Signature what used to be Pepper n' Chili or something to that effect in the west end? I saw quite a large sign advertising its opening which was near the west end shopping centre housing Safeway, Original Joes, etc. but have heard nothing else about it.

re: Bob Mac
Hmmmm....lets see where was I? driving down Mayfield Road heading to Stoney Plain westbound. it was on the right hand side, not on the same side as Mayfield common, have no idea where I was.
My friend is taking me out to the Melting Pot for a going away dinner at the end of the month. Neither of our husbands like fondue, so it is a good choice.
This will probably be my last dinner out before leaving Edmonton, besides the usual pizza and other fast food during packing! I will report back!

re: felix the hound
I probably should start posting this in each month's discussion post!
Edmonton Restaurant Review of the Month (RROTM) is an event where chowhounds nominate local restaurants to be chosen (similar to a book club). The moderator of RROTM will use a randomizer to choose the restaurant for the upcoming month. Chowhounds try to eat there at least once during that month, and post their opinion in a RROTM specific thread. There are two monthly threads for RROTM - the discussion thread to choose the restaurant and the thread for the reviews.

Of those, I'd be most interested in hearing reviews of zinc (and am likely to be trying it out myself anyway). I think it's been open for long enough to have kinks worked out?
Another suggestion might be The Bothy. :) Any place that has like 80 types of scotch is worth trying!
