I-35 in Texas (San Antonio to Denton)

Hello, I've been trying to find info on some good restaurants close I-35, but they mostly seem to be homecooking, German, and BBQ-not my favorites. Can anyone recommend some other places? Ideally, I'd love to find great Asian, Mediterannean, or just imaginative restaurants (fusion, vegetarian), etc. Not crazy about Tex-Mex, but traditional Mexican places would be great, too. Any thoughts?

      Roselane -

I'm not sure where you're from or how familiar you are with your route but I drive it often (although I can't recommend anything in particular to you since the cuisines you dismissed are the ones I prefer when I'm traveling). However, Austin is a funky college town with many "imaginative" restauranteurs and Dallas is a great big sophisticated city with world-class restaurants. I-35 goes right through the downtowns of each. You don't need to compromise. On the Dallas/Ft Worth and the Austin boards, ask about whatever specific type of restaurant you're seeking. You should get lots of terrific options.

You probably should check the Austin board - Austin has lots of everything. In Waco, there's a good Thai resataurant close to the interstate - Bankok Royale - University Parks exit. There's also a Vietnamese restaurant - the Clay Pot, that I haven't tried

Excellent advice. I-35 goes right through the middle of downtown Austin, and Dallas, and Ft. Worth, depending upon which route you choose. There are all sorts of excellent restaurants within a block or two of the interstate.
