  1. That looks really great. May have to check it out next time I'm in NYC. Now, Iggy's has a good selection of breads like that. Clearflour and B+R too. Don't know of a bakery that has pizza like that. Maybe Galleria Umberto is somewhat close to that but not really. Iggy's does a decent pizza btw at their outlet store. As for the panini, maybe Trattoria Il Panino.

    1. Nope on the pizza. Campo dei Fiori used to make that style of pizza, but they're long gone.

      1. Iggy's factory in Cambridge

          I agree, for the pizza, Iggy's in Cambridge has just what you are looking for.

            Absolutely - Iggy's pizza is amazing - the plain cheese is great, as is the mushroom, as well as the current seasonal asparagus with goat cheese - it's usually available warm (not heated to order, however) around lunch time, but really good even at room temperature.

            French epi, francese, and multigrain are favorite breads for me, but there are others that look great as well.

              More Iggy's love from this quarter. That pizza is a favorite quick weekend lunch for me.

              The Whole Foods on River Street, Cambridge, has a pizza counter and the product is similar in style to Iggy's/Sullivan's/Campo dei Fiori. I think it's a good, but not great product. (The slice I tried was lukewarm, and the crust was tough. But they offer a variety of toppings and I haven't ruled out a future sampling.)

                I find that pizza, like most other Whole Foods prepared food offerings to be:
                1. Made with high quality ingredients (to justify the high price tag?)
                2. Made too long ago and just sitting around
                3. Completely underseasoned and underflavored and;
                4. Often undercooked (but still tough due to sitting around so long)

                1. re: rlh

                  Definitely depends on which Whole Foods...The pizza at River Street and Framingham, possibly Charles River Park, are the best. Avoid the rest...

                  Still not like Sullivan St, tho...I would give that nod to Iggy's and Figs, tho to be honest, I haven't been to Figs in awhile, so my opinions may not be up to date...

            2. Parziale's Bakery on Prince St, NE, next to Bova sells slices that look like the pomodoro. They don't cook to order but there's a tray that stays at room temp.

              They'd probably cook a whole pie for you.
