Asian in Knoxville after Peter Chang

Now that he has departed The Hong Kong House, where does one go for good Chinese or Thai food?

Though Chang has moved on, the menu is still virtually the same and I can't tell a major difference in the five core dishes that I always get. The young chicken, braised beef, wontons in red oil, fish rolls, and sichuan noodle soup are just as good today as they were a year ago. That being said, you can't go wrong at Taste of Thai, but HKH is still firmly entrenched as my favorite restaurant in town.

I know you posted your question quite a while ago - but I would definitely not stop going to Hong Kong House just because Chang has left - he has left a heavy mark on that menu and the I am constantly amazed by the food there. I don't live in Knoxville (I live in Chicago, actually) and didn't discover Hong Kong House until after Chang had left, but have been many times and sampled much of the menu, and will keep going back. Outstanding food.

actually, I've been there twice and liked it--just wanted to be sure I wasn't overlooking any
other place as good or better.
