Impastatos vs Sal and Judy's

Can anyone tell me whether Impastatos Restaurant is as good as Sal and Judy's? I've been to Sal and Judy's many times over the last twenty years but I have never been to Impastatos.....I believe that the two proprietors are brothers and the menus look similar. I don't mind going to Sal and Judys but instead of going across the lake I would like to know about the quality of Impastatos. Is it similar?

From someone who had both, we liked Sal & Judy's best. Ask for the specials for soft shell crab and redfish. I think they are something called Napelon or something like that. Took my parents there last year and we all had a very good meal and experience.

Impastato's never ate at Sal and Judy's but went friday night the food was mediocre to just not good we brought a party of eighteen and I was totally embarrassed we all had the five course the only selection we got to make was each of our entrees the rest of the courses were brought out as they saw fit some of our guest didn't even eat some of the dishes that was put in front of them. The service was terrible we waitied for drinks all night even though we had a drink girl waitng on our table my wife got the osso-bucco no taste what so ever. My entree was the filet it was overcooked the sad thing about the whole night was I was the one to invite all my friends and out of eighteen people it was the first time for sixteen of us not only will I ever go back but neither will my friends. I don't know about these other reviews but I will stick with TONY'S , IRENES, VINCENTS,THE REAL ITALIAN RESTAURANTS

The 2 brothers are in a dead heat for Italian Restaurant for Those In a New Orleans 70s Time Warp. I wouldn't waste time with either one.

Went to Impastato's with my husband the other night and we were very pleased with everything. We shared the dinner special and chose the seafood canneloni, and the ossobucco. We also saw someone eating fried shrimp and had a half dozen of those. The salad was lovely the service was very good. We will definitely go back with friends next time.
I have never had a bad meal at Sal and Judy's. The food has been consistanly good for years in my opinion, but having Impastatos here in the city is a great choice when you don't feel like going to Lacombe.

I much prefer Irene's, Eleven79, Domenica (lasagna is very good made w/ fresh pasta).

Totally agree with koogle. Sal and Judy's used to be much better. Impastatos has always been great.

Honestly, I think Impastatos beats Sal & Judy's hands down. You have to give Impastatos a try, you owe it to yourself. I am craving the crab fingers now. I can almost taste that lemony butter sauce!!!!!
