Where to buy vanilla beans in Madison, WI?
Anyone know where i can find real vanilla bean pods in Madison? Most of the local grocery stores, including the Willy St Co-Op, don't seem to carry them.

isn't there a Whole Foods Market in Madison? they usually have them. Trader Joe's also does (or used to) - in small jars, though the quality wasn't the *best* when i picked one up to try. Costco carries them as well if you happen to have a membership.

That's where I get mine!
Lucky me, I work less than a block from them!
(Check out Wisconsin Cutlery while you're in that stripmall...neat little shop. Bring your knives if you need them sharpened!)

If you feel like a little road trip, slide down I-90 to Janesville. Basics Co-op has good plump ones. They are packaged two beans in a little glass tube. You don't need to be a member to shop there.
