State of the Art Ice Cream in Vancouver?

OK...I have a hankering for a good Banana Split. Old-fashioned kind with the three sauces is preferable, sprinkle of nuts, etc... but I would love to hear about any modernized versions (eg like Refuel's take on the Peanut Buster Parfait). Has anyone tried Marble Slab's version?

All that said, Vancouver really isn't known for good ice cream. Where do you go for good ice cream and ice cream treats? (sundaes, sandwiches, dipped cones...etc.). Summer is coming....

i agree, there seems to be a dearth of good independent scoop shops in vancouver. what is that about? i'd even take a ben and jerry's in a pinch. does anyone know of any hidden gems or to die for local ice creams (not gelato, not yogurt)? thanks :)

love to hear others opinion and reports. but i personally can't stand marble slab. it is classic un-necessary calorie overload.
