Best Raw Bars

We have an anniversary coming up and I'm dreaming of raw oysters, raw clams, maybe a seafood tower, steamed lobster to follow... Balancing freshness, quality and price (so that dreams really can come true!) , what are the five to ten best seafood houses/ raw bars in NYC to consider?
Thanks, All!

Folks, we split off some discussion of raw bars on Cape Breton to a new thread on the Atlantic Canada board. You can find that thread here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/716261

Track's, a dumpy looking bar in Penn Station has the best raw bar in NYC. They keep a fresh, cold selection and don't wash out or discard the brine/liqueur like most other raw bars. Any kitchen food outside of the seared sea scallop salad, I will not vouch for.

You pretty much have to hit Maine or Cape Breton, NS for an excellent combo raw bar/seafood house.

I will, however, try this Walter Foods.

Brooklyn Fish Camp in PSlope is one option in Brooklyn that pops to mind.

I'd say you are better off going to Manhattan for this request though. Mermaid Inn has a very nice tower at their newer location in the village, City Hall steak house does a good one too (underated imho). Grand Central Oyster Bar is not all that special feeling/looking but their raw clams/oysters are always top notch (stray beyond them at your own risk). Plus lots more options/opinions if you ask on the manhattan board.

Walter Foods in Williamsburg has developed into one of the best.

London Lennies on Woodhaven Blvd in Rego Park has excellent clams and oysters....they do those seafood towers, and always have lobster. Not the least expensive place, but not overly expensive either.

A second on London Lennie's, predictable quality and freshness, not quite Manhattan prices.

agreed, walter does a terrific oyster & seafood selection.

for cheap but good quality and fresh oysters/raw bar, check out fish in the w. village (on bleecker). red white & blue special is a half dozen bluepoints or little necks + wine or beer for 8$.

I'm no expert but Blue Ribbon had the best oysters I've ever had.
