Best Raw Bars
We have an anniversary coming up and I'm dreaming of raw oysters, raw clams, maybe a seafood tower, steamed lobster to follow... Balancing freshness, quality and price (so that dreams really can come true!) , what are the five to ten best seafood houses/ raw bars in NYC to consider?
Thanks, All!

re: kathryn
OK, for everybody saying Aquagrill, how are the other items there (non-oyster)? I've only ever had the raw oysters. But the cooked items I've had haven't been nearly as good so I'm wondering how their cooked shrimp and cooked lobster is.

I almost always go raw there, plus desserts are good. I also love their mussel soup. Have had some very good crab claws, jonah crab, and shrimp cocktail on occasions. Also softshells. For lobster, I go go Mary's or Pearl's usually. Which isn't to say that Aquagrill doesn't do a good lobster....I just haven't done a whole lobster there. If I had to bet, I'd bet it's good.

Yeah, I've had some cooked fish dishes at Aquagrill that were only OK (and once or twice a little overcooked), and my big pet peeve is getting a huge seafood tower only to realize that the lobster was overcooked. Thanks for the feedback.
