I think they closed about a year ago. They still have their Manhattan location (22nd street, maybe?). I think it was just a matter of competition in Williamsburg. The food there was good, but not very special. Before there was much in the way of competition, they were the best game in town. In the last couple of years though there have been a lot of very good places opening up in that neighborhood. I think Planet Thai just couldn't compete.

For what it was, WHEN it was, it was good. But not any better than that. (IMO, of course).

egit, I'll back you on your opinion. When Planet Thai (or Plan Eat Thai, does anyone else remember the silly lawsuit) was on Bedford over a dozen years ago it was the best game in town. It then moved to the much larger location and the food slipped a little and then with the increased competition they just became outclassed.

I am glad to see it go .It was great when it was a small place on Bedford ave. Once they went large it was a night mare . Service was off and the women that owned the place wasn't very nice to customers. Plus the construction next door really killed them .I heard a guy tell her I will get you back . He was the one that but the building up next to her. Funny how us native do thing in Willy B .
